Illnesses and injuries don’t always happen during your doctor’s office hours. So it’s important to have other care options at your fingertips. Learn how you can save both time and money with Cigna Healthcare.

Your most convenient, lowest cost care option, virtual urgent care is included in every Cigna Healthcare plan. Virtual care lets you connect to a doctor by phone or video, day or night, for minor illnesses.

  • Cost: Low to no additional cost
  • Wait times: Little to no waiting
  • Conditions treated: Allergies, fever, colds and flu, skin conditions, minor ear and throat infections. You can even get a prescription sent to your pharmacy, if needed.

For minor medical conditions when your doctor isn’t available, a Convenience Care Clinic – also known as a walk-in clinic – is your best bet for immediate, affordable care.

  • Cost: $
  • Wait times: Low
  • Conditions treated: Allergies, fever, colds and flu, skin conditions, minor ear and throat infections. Also a great option for flu shots and vaccines.

If you need medical attention for a non-emergency medical condition, an Urgent Care Center typically costs less than the ER with shorter wait times.

  • Cost: $$$
  • Wait times: Wait times vary. Appointment may be needed.
  • Conditions treated: Nausea, diarrhea, minor cuts and sprains, back and joint pain, fever and flu, earaches, throat infections and more.

If you have a life-threatening medical condition, were in a serious accident, or suddenly become ill, call 911 or head straight to the emergency room.

  • Cost: $$$$
  • Wait times: Wait times can be long.
  • Conditions treated: Life-threatening emergencies such as severe bodily injury, sudden loss of consciousness, chest pain or difficulty breathing.
