If you take a medication that’s no longer covered: Ask your doctor to recommend a covered alternative or obtain an approved medical exception by April 1, 2025. Note that your medication may cost more during this transition, which starts January 1.
What to do: Watch for any letters that may be mailed to your home identifying any impacted medication(s) and possible alternatives, and then follow the necessary steps.
You’ll have a new, updated digital ID card for 2025, which you’ll use for both your medical and pharmacy benefits. Here’s what you need to do to ensure a smooth transition:
Step 1: Beginning January 1, 2025, visit myCigna to view your updated digital medical/pharmacy ID card. The Rx codes called out on the sample ID card* will be new. That’s why it’s important to share your updated card for continued coverage.
Step 2: Select “Share” to save a copy of your digital ID card to your mobile device or desktop. (You can also save screenshots of the front and back of your card as “favorites” in your photos app.)
Step 3: Provide your new digital ID card to all your medical providers and pharmacies.
