In all other events, if you are concerned that an employee may be experiencing a crisis due to mental health, do not wait; reach out to your HRBP immediately. They are equipped to tap into company subject matter experts like Employee Relations/Employee Care & Support who can provide the employee with appropriate resources. In addition, if an employee shares that their mental health is interfering with their ability to perform their job, then they may need an accommodation. Direct them to initiate an accommodation request through Employee Relations, and you should reach out to your HRBP or Employee Relations for support.

Management Consultation services are available to assist managers and supervisors with a number of important workplace issues. Our Management Consultation team is made up of licensed master’s-level clinicians who are also Certified Employee Assistance Professionals (CEAPs). They can provide guidance on concerns such as:
These services are available 24/7 on an unlimited basis by calling 1-800-952-6676 and selecting the prompt for HR managers and area leaders.
In some cases, further steps may be necessary beyond consultation, and a Management Referral is warranted. The EAP is a significant support tool for managers who have employees or Cast Members with performance or other issues.
Your employee assistance consultant (EAC) can assist you with one of the following referral types:

Here are the steps you should take to submit a formal referral:
An EAC will contact the EAP health care professional who will review the reasons for the Management Referral. They will then assess the employee’s or Cast Member’s situation, problem-solve, and discuss recommendations. The EAC will provide updates on the employee’s or Cast Member’s compliance with:
Once the EAP has contacted an employee or a Cast Member, review all your performance expectations with that employee or Cast Member. Continue to offer feedback on both their successes and areas for improvement, and intervene immediately if you see any change in performance.
Remember that an EAC is available to you for further consultation, if needed.
The ROI form is only to be used by an Employer Representative who is initiating a formal EAP Management Referral for an employee or a Cast Member. It only allows the Cigna Healthcare EAP to report employee or Cast Member EAP attendance and compliance information to the specified Employer Representative.
To schedule a consultation or discuss a referral, call 1-800-952-6676 and select the prompt for HR managers and area leaders.
